Troubleshooting a Cable Modem when the Send Light is Blinking
The send light on a cable modem indicates your upstream status. When the send light is solid, there is a solid upstream connection between the cable modem and the CMTS. If it is continually blinking without ever going solid , there are a few troubleshooting steps that can be done.
-
While leaving the power connected, remove the coax cable from the modem.
- Let the modem sit idle until the receive light starts blinking.
- Remove the power from the modem.
- Reconnect the coax cable to the modem.
- Reconnect the modem’s power. If this did not resolve the issue, please have a staff member call into the office.
